You should not take any law firm's word for its own standing, and you do not have to. California publishes the information, and it takes about a minute.
- Search the State Bar of California's attorney licensee search by name. It shows whether the license is active, the admission date, and — importantly — any public record of discipline, administrative action or pending charges.
- Check the admission date against anything a firm claims about years of experience. The two should match.
- Look at the discipline section specifically. It is the only part of a lawyer's record that is both verified and published, which makes it worth more than every badge on every law firm website combined.
We have not published a State Bar number on this site yet. It should be here, and it is on the list of things to fix rather than something to quietly omit.
The responsible attorney
California requires a firm's communications to identify the attorney responsible for them. For this website that is Simon Aziz Budhwani, Esq., and his name appears in the footer of every page for that reason. If something here is wrong or reads as a promise rather than an explanation, it is his responsibility.
What you will not find on these pages
No award badges, no "Super Lawyer" graphics, no peer-rating logos. Not because there is nothing to list — the firm's previous site named several — but because California expects an award to be described with the granting organization, the year and the selection method, and a logo on a page gives you none of that. If the firm supplies those details, the recognitions can go on these pages properly stated. Until then they are decoration, and we would rather you judged the firm on whether the explanations across this site are accurate and useful.
