Accessibility

What we have done, measured rather than claimed — and the three places where this site currently falls short.

Our commitment

A site for injured people has a particular obligation to be usable by people with impairments, including the ones the injury caused. Someone with a new brain injury, a broken dominant hand, double vision or severe pain is exactly who this site is for.

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

What we have actually done

  • Every color pair has been measured rather than estimated. Body text is 16.9:1 against the page background, secondary text 7.7:1, and the primary button 7.6:1. Where a color failed, it was restricted to decoration — our brass accent is never used for body text on a light background because it only reaches 3.0:1.
  • The whole site works from the keyboard, with a visible focus indicator and a skip link to the main content.
  • It works without JavaScript. The intake form degrades to an ordinary HTML form. Nothing essential is behind a script.
  • Text reflows and scales. Type is set in relative units and the layout is tested at 320px and at 200% zoom.
  • Dark mode follows your system setting, with its own measured contrast values.
  • Motion is reduced if your system asks for it.
  • Headings are in order, landmarks are marked up, tables have real header cells, and every form field has a real label.
  • Pages are static HTML, which is the most reliable thing to hand a screen reader.

Where we fall short

Being specific about this is more useful than a general statement of commitment.

  • The site is only in English. For a firm serving Orange County and Los Angeles that is a real access failure, and it is a deliberate decision not to publish machine-translated legal content. Spanish and Vietnamese pages need human translation and a bilingual review before they go up. We can arrange interpretation for a call now.
  • Attorney photographs are the firm's existing images and are lower resolution than we would like.
  • No formal third-party audit has been carried out. Our testing is automated checks plus manual keyboard and zoom passes.

If something does not work

Call us. The phone number is at the top and bottom of every page and it works regardless of what the website does. If you tell us what failed and what you were using, we will fix it — and if you need information from this site in another format, we will simply give it to you over the phone.
