If you cannot come to us
Say so. Home and hospital visits are ordinary in this work. If you are in a hospital bed and cannot hold a phone comfortably, a family member can call on your behalf and we will work around it.
What to have ready, if you have it
None of this is required and nobody will be turned away for not having it. It just makes the first call more useful.
- The date and rough location of what happened
- The collision or incident report number, if one was made
- Your own insurance declarations page — the single most useful document, because it shows your uninsured motorist and medical payments coverage
- The other party's insurance details, if you have them
- Names of any doctors or hospitals you have seen
- Any letter or email an insurer has already sent you
- Photographs, if you took any
What will happen on the call
A conversation, not a sales pitch. We will ask what happened, what injuries you have, what treatment you have had, and whether an insurer has been in touch. Then we will tell you what we think — whether there appears to be a claim, what will be argued about, what the deadline is, and what the next couple of years would realistically involve.
If we do not think you need a lawyer, that is what you will be told, along with how to handle it yourself. Nothing is signed on that call.
Language and access
This site is in English only, which for a firm serving Orange County and Los Angeles is a genuine shortcoming rather than an oversight. We have not published machine-translated legal content because an approximation of a legal deadline is worse than nothing. We can arrange interpretation for a call and for meetings — ask when you get in touch.
If a disability makes any part of this difficult, say so and we will work around it. See the accessibility statement, which lists what we have done and where this site still falls short.
